About HaRAN
Harm Reduction Action Network (HaRAN) is dedicated to addressing the health, social, and economic challenges associated with high-risk behaviors through pragmatic, evidence-based, and non-judgmental public health strategies.
Our mission is to minimize the adverse impacts linked to activities such as substance and tobacco use, unsafe sexual practices, poor dietary habits, and other risk-related behaviors. HaRAN seeks to foster healthier, safer communities by focusing on four key pillars: awareness, support, research, and advocacy.
Guided by harm reduction principles and sound public health practices, HaRAN takes a holistic approach to empower individuals and communities to make informed choices. By addressing the complex realities of high-risk behaviors, we aim to reduce their negative effects on health and well-being, while promoting resilience, dignity, and social inclusion.

What is Harm Reduction?
Harm reduction refers to a set of policies, strategies, and practices aimed at minimizing the negative health, social, economic, and environmental impacts of certain human behaviors, such as substance use and other high-risk activities.
Grounded in science and evidence, harm reduction offers a pragmatic approach to addressing public health and sustainability challenges. It focuses on reducing harm rather than simply eliminating risky behaviors.
By advocating for safer practices and responsible corporate policies, harm reduction seeks to protect individual well-being, strengthen communities, and promote the health of our planet.
